The 2014 Nissan X-Trail will cost from $27,990 when it goes on sale in March, and from $31,580 for the first versions of the compact SUV to be offered with seven seats.
Nissan Australia today announced detailed pricing and specifications for the third generation of the X-Trail that debuted in 2001 and has since gone on to make about 140,000 sales locally.
There’s a softer approach to the styling for the first time, replacing the boxy, rugged look of previous X-Trails.
The new Nissan X-Trail is available only with carry-over but incrementally improved petrol engines for now, with diesel power arriving in the third quarter of 2014.
Only the base model gets a 106kW/200Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder with manual gearbox, with all other front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models adopting a 126kW/226Nm 2.5-litre four-cylinder with ‘Xtronic’ continuously variable transmission.
There are three trim levels, all familiar from other Nissans: ST, ST-L and Ti. Opting for AWD over FWD requires a premium of $2890 (ST-L) or $3490 (ST), with the flagship $44,680 petrol Ti exclusively using Nissan’s All Mode 4×4-i system.
